1987 JEEP Grand Wagoneer
I purchased the Jeep on January 30, 2005
in Frederick, MD and drove it back to Knoxville, TN without ANY problems!!!
Due to a recent job change that requires
me to drive about 500-600 miles a week, I must sell it and get something that
is more fuel efficient.
I'd like to get a Wrangler or CJ7, but I'm also looking at VW Jetta/Golf/GTi's.
The list of items from November 21, 1997
to October 11, 2004 is work done by the previous owner which he had receipts
for including:
a remanufactured motor with 40k miles on it, the A/C converted to R-134 with
new compressor & dryer, and many other new parts.
There are things that have been done, but there isn't a receipt, so I didn't list it.

NEEDS ATTENTION TO:
* Rust through on frame at gas tank skid plate (plate
needs replacing too)... frame
repair kit from "Auto Rust Tech" approx $200-$300 parts and
labor
* A little cold natured at first start up,
but runs fine on it's own after about 15-30 seconds.Possible choke problem.
After warmed up, starts right up every time.
* A few surface rust spots here and there on the
body.
* A couple of dinks at bottom of doors.
* Clear coat coming off of hood and top.
* Rear defroster strips need to be reworked.
* Rear bumper is pushed in on the right side.
* Right front door lock doesn't always unlock especially when it's colder out.
Works fine when it's warm out.
* Slight exhaust leak at manifold. I've read on
the net, that this motor is not suppose to have exhaust manifold gaskets, but
it does.
THE GOOD:
* LOTS of new stuff!!!
* Runs great
* Tranny shifts fine.
* All the power windows and door locks work except what's mentioned above.
* Rear window works with button or key.
* A/C has been converted to R-134 and new compressor (will freeze you out)
* Interior is in great shape
* New headliner recently installed (I have a lot of extra material)
* Power seats all work.
* Includes rear cargo cover.
* Wood (look) paneling still looks good.
* Still has the factory fog lights.
THINGS I HAD PLANNED ON UPDATING:
* Replace springs with 2" kit from
BJ's
Offroad ... approx $500
* Edelbrock intake and 4bbl carb.
* Aftermarket rear view mirror with auto dimmer
and compass display (possibly Gentex)... approx $50 on ebay
*
Window wipes (inside and outside) on all 4 door windows from BJ's
Off-Road... approx $100
